I'm using the CharDev browser in SimCraft and I can't import the character.

This is the link it gives me at the bottom of the page.

http://chardev.org/profile/385519-Aaroniero.html

When I hit Import, it gives me this:

Unable to download character profile html from chardev.

What am I doing wrong? I'm not very familiar with SimCraft as I usually just import and look at which weapon/gear gives DPS increase.

I am having the same issue. I tried changing my default browser to IE, Chrome, and Firefox. Always same message: Unable to download character profile html from chardev

Yep, same here... I check a couple of times a day and so far, the import in Simcraft is not able to d/l the profile from CharDev. It worked fine prior to a couple of days ago. Don't know if everyone has the issue or just a few of us.

I did just now get it to work. In Simcraft, you need to edit the URL it uses to import by deleting everything after the profile number. Then it seems to work normally.

at the risk of exposing my noobieness, how do I update simcraft with that r11493 revision? I downloaded the windows version of simcraft after deleting all my old files, but no difference. I searched simcraft's site, and while I can see reference to r11493, I find nothing that tells me how I update my simcraft to that version. What do I need to do to get Chardev working? thanks in advance for your reply and patience

Aside from checking out the current trunk and compiling simcraft yourself, you can either wait for a new release or use the work-around suggested by terminusx1.

There's an updated version of SimCraft with this fix:
